Each year amazon.com puts out a list of the top 20 books from the previous year. We start with book 20 and work our way up to number 1. It is really fun to introduce the students to new titles and have them consider which one is their favorite and why. This year the entire class unanimously chose number 1 to be their favorite: "The Day the Crayons Quit" by Drew Daywalt. This book is so funny, and has already been added to our classroom library! The students each wrote a review for this book and shared their favorite parts. Most students found the peach crayon to be the funniest part because he was embarrassed to be missing his wrapper!
