Olympic Reading Kick-Off!

For I Love to Read Month this year, we are focusing on an Olympic theme and the slogan "If You Can Read, You Can Succeed!"  Friday morning we kicked off our month with Opening Ceremonies at Family Time.  The teachers passed the torch as a representative from each class accepted each team banner.  It was so fun to see the students get excited and cheer for each other!  Our first event of the month was buddy reading.  We were paired up with the 6th grade class.  It is such a treat for the students in our class to share a good book with an older friend.  I also enjoy seeing past students!  Thanks 6th graders for being such great reading partners! We are off to a great start of our Olympic Reading Games!
