We are a Pigeon Loving Classroom

In our classroom we have been reading the Pigeon books by Mo Willems.  This spunky pigeon inspired us to write our own Pigeon books.  We had a Pigeon Party today to celebrate and share our hard work. We invited in a few classrooms to read our books to.  We also graphed our favorite Pigeon books and favorite Mo Willems' characters.  We played a Pigeon and Duckling math game to see who would eat the most hotdogs (based on the book "The Pigeon Finds a Hotdog").  Pairs of students wrote letters to the author that we've all grown to adore, Mo Willems, asking him questions about his books and characters.  And of course no party is complete without a Pigeon cake!  We had a terrific day!
