Daily 5 Reading

In our classroom we use the Daily 5 structure to manage our reading block.  This means that as I work with small groups on differentiated reading skills, the other students choose between read to self, read to someone, work on writing, listen to reading, and word work.  We have been practicing all of the choices except word work (which will be launched next week when we start our first spelling unit).  The students have been doing a fantastic job making a choice and staying FOCUSED on that choice!
